Labor Day & Next Meeting

Just a reminder there is no Cub Scout meeting on Monday September 6. The next Den Meeting will be Monday September 13 from 7-8p at Sims Park. This will be our last Sims Park meeting for the fall, we will return to the great indoors on 9/20. Pack 7 will be at the Cub Scout recruiting night on Thursday 9/9 from 6:30-8:30 at Mitchell Park on Little Rd, if you are interested in joining before the next meeting.

Coastal Cleanup 2021

The annual International Coastal Cleanup presented by the Rotary Club of New Port Richey will be held throughout Pasco County on Saturday, September 18, 2021, 9a-12. Mark your calendar!

Early registration to receive a t-shirt has ended. You are still welcome to attend, please email committee@thegreatpack7.com with the number attending and your Scout’s Den. We will be meeting at Eagle Point Park at 9am and will follow up the clean-up with fishing. 4499 Straub Memorial Dr, Port Richey, FL 34652

When participating in a cleanup it is important to wear old sturdy shoes – sneakers, rubber boots, or work boots are all good options. We know that Floridians love their flip-flops, but they are not a good idea for a cleanup. The sun can be intense so apply sunscreen, wear a hat, and bring water for hydration. Grass and mangroves can have all sorts of flying critters that like to chew a bit, so utilize bug spray so you don’t have to worry about slapping yourself with trashy hands.

Den Meeting!

Join us Monday 8/23 at Sims Park amphitheater from 7p-8p for our first Den meetings of the school year. New families are welcome to come see what the Great Pack 7 is all about!

Welcome Back to the Pack 2021

We are excited to welcome our returning and new members back to the Pack and our school year program! We kick off this year with Camp Soule Aquatics Day on 8/14, the Raingutter Regatta and Registration Day on 8/16 at Sims Park Downtown New Port Richey, and wow our first camp-out is less than two months away. If you have a boy in Kindergarten through Grade 5 interested in joining our Cub Scout Pack, contact us today!

Don’t forget to turn in your Summer Adventure Passport at Registration Day to earn your Summertime Award!

Summertime Activities have begun!

All registered Cub Scouts in the Pack should have received their Passport to Summertime Adventure in the mail this week! The Summertime Award can only be earned during… you guessed it… the summer! Attend one event each month over the summer to earn this uniform pin. A different pin is earned each Rank year. The Outdoor Adventure Award can be worked on throughout the entire year, but summer is a great time to get started on it, and you earn a cool pocket patch. You can also download the calendar and award information on our Calendar page. Please watch Scoutbook and our Pack Facebook page for event information. We look forward to seeing you this summer!

New to Pack 7? Now is a great time to join and meet your den members. Contact us for more information!

Scouting for Food 2021

Scouting for Food is an annual food drive organized by the BSA each January. This year we will be donating our collected food to our Chartered Organization’s food bank, to thank St Thomas for supporting our Pack 7 Cub Scout program since 1988. In 2020, Pack 7 and Troop 177 donated over 100lbs of food to Metropolitan Ministries!

Register here for either hanger drop-off or food collection dates: Registration is now closed. Thank you!

Update: We collected 250+lbs of food for the St Thomas Aquinas food pantry. Thank you to all the Pack 7 Cub Scouts who volunteered for this service project!

Please email committee@thegreatpack7.com with any questions. Every den has at least one adventure that requires an annual service project.
